#484 P277 2016P77. Wasn't too bad today. Walked along edge of plowed fields and over some fences and there it was.

Parked at NJ 74651 62670 in a wee layby at the corner. Then followed the path shown on the 1:50K OS map, following the fence line. Very tough, muddy and wet and grass seemed to weave around your feet to try and trip you up, I also thought I spotted some hog weed but not 100% sure. Crossed fence at NJ 75054 62530 and followed GPSr all the way to the trig. Very well hidden amongst the crop.

Located on a large open grass field, probably arable when used. Vertical line of fence hooks in opposite sides of pillar implies that this was once a field boundary. Otherwise, very good condition. Spider retains original OS centre plug with deep stamped lettering. Flush bracket on SE face. RHS sighting hole open, others plugged. Built 24th July 1952 as a tertiary station in Block NJ75, Banff. Mapped footpath overgrown, but access not too difficult, most fences appear to have been down or broken for a while. Visibility on the day poor, but views to Knock and Bin of Cullen. Photographed in foul weather 22/06/2004, GRP.

Pillar has sets of hooks on opposite sides as though on line of a wire fence at some time.
