Walked up from Yarrowford on a round of hill. Pillar has no centre cap and tube is unplugged; LHD side sight hole open, plugs at rear and RHD side both beginning to degrade. Good views.

A good walk up from Traquair following the Southern Upland Way. Good views and a nice cairn at the top. Also saw the Cheese Well on our way past - but no sign of any fairies on this particular visit!

Parked at the large car park S of Tweed Bridge. Pay and display not working. £4 for the day. A footpath exists west side of B709 allowing safe access to hamlet of Traquair. SUW is well signposted. Lovely autumn colours made up for the mizzle rain. Alas no view when at summit. Trig in good condition. Spider centre is missing.

Well that's the end of trig bagging in Scotland for this holiday (boo), we've had wind, hail, snow, rain and even sun. So nice to end in a thick cold harr - on the plus side only 4 bites! Have done this little pleasant hill before, couldn't see anything then either....

Third visit. For GPS reading and up to date photographs. HISTORY: Pillar completed 19th July 1958 costing £35.9s.1d. Computed as secondary triangulation station NT33/5 within the Peebles block during 1959. Levelled for height also in 1959. Last maintained by the OS in June 1977. SITE VISIT: Approached from WNW. Public car park beside Traquair Hall at NT331345. Up via Southern Upland Way to NT360334 then final climb SSW up mapped path. Open heather clad hill above woodlands. Pillar in good condition. Spider centre open. Flush bracket faces NNW, ~340°. Vented through NE sight hole. Full 360° panoramic view includes Windlestraw Law, Eildon Mid Hill, Dunrig, Blackhope Scar, Black Law.

Located at the top of the Innerleithen Cross Country MBK trail. Its a fair slog up from the car park but worth it for the intense and technical descent. Fantastic colours on the surrounding hills today and the sun-set later was a corker.

Started from the public phone box in Traquair at NT 331 348, where a road leads up to join the Southern Upland Way. Follow the SUW for a couple for miles, as it climbs to the top of Minch Moor. At the top, follow the signpost for MINCH MOOR STONE AND VIEWPOINT, which leads to the pillar. Views in all directions.

Pillar in good condition. The spider is now minus its OS plug, the centre being open to the elements. Flush bracket faces N.N.W. Minch Moor is approximately 2½ miles south east on Innerleithen. Peeblesshire. This top is open moorland with access to all. It is presently rumoured (year 2003) that there is an application to construct a wind farm on this hill. Easiest accessed from Traquair (NT330346), it is a fair climb but a rewarding summit with a cairn and a trig pillar. Revisited and photographed 5/04/2003, GRP.

The pillar was completed 19th July 1958 costing £35.9s.1d. In 1959 this marker was computed as secondary station NT33/5 in the Peebles block. Flush bracket S9827 was levelled for height also in 1959. This marker was last maintained by the OS in June 1977. The spider still had raised letter centre plug in 1990.
