Heading towards the Royal Vic in Llanberis for a cheap and cheerful 4 days. En route there was a plan A B C and D. B won since never ever ventured into these hills and very curious to see how the land lay. Parked up in Nebo (other Nebo's available). I managed a circular route on tracks and a very good decision. A wild and wooly area with very little prospect of a satisfying "tramp". Slog comes to mind. If anyone deserves recognition it's the skinny boys and girls at McDonald's (Prestatyn) who delivered the goods to the bone idle people, too lazy and "plump" to get out of their vehicles.

Fantastic views and really easy to get too after a bit of a walk, but we decided to visit during stormy weather and high winds, so slightly challenging

Parked near on road Tynewydd farm and walked up track onto access land. At about the 430m mark south of summit there is an odd ladder stile giving access to the private field the trig is in strangely. Returned the same way. Awful weather. Could just about make out the Snowdonian mountains rising up into the cloud.

A strange wild mot wild place it's got the emblematic strips of high conifer and muddy cows (after the handsome charolais bulls walled off at the start of the route to Nebo). The views dramatic. The trig grand with some pagan like daubings but also really easy and not quite that feeling of being able to vanish into the wilderness that the nearby Carnedd y Filast and Denbigh moors give.

Now a free car park at Nebo. To avoid the frisky cattle we walked the track in access land. A style allows you to climb the wall to a quarry at sh859572. Pillar has green spray paint graffiti on NE side, spider plug is missing. Observed a Red Kite.

Nice walk out on tracks to this one about 4 k, someone has recently painted the trig cream and stencilled one side. Plug missing great views to the Snowdonia giants from here last of trip on way home now.

Parked at reservoir near old caravans then followed lane past Tynewydd continuing on this track almost all the way to the top. The map shows this track to be outside the open access land. Great views, lovely sunny day.

Walked here from Llyn Aled and made it a circular walk by visiting Llyn Alwen also. Superb views from this trig of Moel Siabod and the Ogwen Valley.

Excellent path up from Nebo. Windy and showery but great visibility and superb all round views of some pretty bleak moorland to the east. I removed the plastic cup someone had so thoughtfully placed into the hole left by the absent plug.

Parked and walked up from Nebo then up path with a very faded sign declaring it to be private land .. Stunning views across to Tryfan and the Glyders …

Ascent from the North and part of a cracking circular walk. Not much of a summit but the views of the Snowdonia peaks from Moel Seisiog is incredible.

I walked up from Llanwrst along steep lanes and then accessed open moorland to the northwest of the trig at Cefn-rhudd. This way was quite hard going through marshy ground and tussocky grass. The visibility at the pillar wasn't brilliant, only a couple of miles, but at least it hadn't affected my route finding. I came down on the good track to Nebo and then continued to the A470, which I followed back into Llanwrst.

No plug. One side of hill Accesss Land, other side private. Trig just on private side of dividing wall. Easily walkable from Nebo. Follow clear track [signed "private road"] as it twists & turns up the hill. Alternatively, handrail wall on public side - gate at top gives access to trig.

One of those days that makes you wonder why... Pouring rain and the elements at their best. Had to wair Ski Goggles to have chance of seeing where going, and there wasnt even a chance of a view! Otherwise I suppose a reasonable hill, the trig is in good condition, but the plug is missing.
