Approached via a pair of metal gates on the minor road NE of the TP, up via obvious vehicle tracks to an elaborate water trough then on up to the fort and though gate at top right corner of field. The electric fences are very much 'live', the first field we went up through had cows in it and the field with the TP in it has sheep in it. The dogs were kept very much on short leads! Superb views on a glorious day of stunning visibility and air clarity.

Storm what's it's name still edging round us, not sure what to do, so a fort we've walked round too many times at last visited, fields hang with fresh winter greens for the cows sitting well out of the wind - unlike us - feeling cocky we head to the Cheviots later and nearly cop for a little wetness...

Cattle on east side of hill, so went up from Morebattle Mains: the edge of an arable field then up through unoccupied pasture, which turned out to actually contain a bull, hence a fast ascent before it noticed us.

Parked in Morebattle and walked up through the fields from Morebattle Mains, circumnavigating bulls and a double electric fence along the way. Turned into a gorgeous afternoon and the views from the trig were very impressive. Decided to go back over the other side but went through the woods and ended up in the grounds of Corbet House, oops! Managed to get out along the drive and out onto the road back to Morebattle...noticed a large number of cattle on the lower slopes of the hill on the way past so were relieved we hadn't returned that way.

Overcast but stunning all round views - all the way back to the Eildons and south to tomorrow's route. N s/hole open and chunk out of S edge; otherwise vgc metal cap deep lettering.
