Only difference between our visit and the others before us it that the shelter-break trees along the roadside have been felled, opening up views SE more than they perhaps were, can certainly see the Eildons now so a bonus point awarded!

Theme of the day is continuing; ankle deep mud, snow and very boggy. Parked just by the gates. The horses have churned up the field so it is not very nice crossing to the trig but ho hum.

A detour from the southern upland way, and quite a pain to reach because I came directly from the path to the east. I dont recommend it. Electric fences to cross, wading through muddy fields and ducking under low branches in the nearby wood. It'd be best to come straight from the road. Pillar beside wind turbine.
