Parked at entrance to the golf club then walked along the track beside the road and found the FBM in the undergrow with the aid of my GPS.

On a long coastal path walk today, (sensational array of wild flowers for virtually the whole walk), but made a diversion to find this FBM and the Easter Balrymonth pillar. Floundered around for ten minutes or so in the long grass, but eventually found it well camouflaged (covered in green lichen) which once removed made it much more visible.

Very mossy. In tail wet grass. No height tag. Concrete construction. If it got mowed like the rest of the golf course surrounding it, it would be lovely.

FBM is just over the ridge of the little hillock, on the opposite side from the service road.

Couldn't find it 1st Jul 2010  12:00  by MAC.HAWK

Looked around for a good 20 minutes but couldnt find it. Grass very high today. Whole area has been redeveloped as Castle Golf Course (not shown on OS 2007 map) possibly the reason I coulnt find as I rummaged all over the hillock its indicated to sit on. The fence at screen left (directly under the car) in iainmacs photo no longer exists.

I didn`t log my earlier visit because I failed to find the FBM even though I had all the paperwork and my GPS. This time I forgot to bring the GridRef, it wasn`t in my GPS, but I found the FBM!

vgc, no height tag, 16m N of first bend in golf course road, on slope of knoll. Took a while to find, mainly because I was looking on the summit, wondering why the photos didnt fit ! Once in right area, FBM fairly obvious and quickly found.

My GPSr indicated that this one was about 20m beyond a construction site fence. Location doesn't look much different to iainmac's photos so it's probably still there.
