Provisions safetley in the backpack I took the rather short and sharp ascent from Mumbles to reach the pillar. Certainly deserves the name "Mumbles Hill". Onwards to Parkmill via the coastal path and the last pillar of the day. Gifted to this fine weather we call summer and finally wear shorts/vest and justify eating ice cream.

Parked in Limeslade car park and followed the signs to Mumbles hill Nature Reserve. Pillar in good condition, spider and flush bracket in place but centre plug missing and filled, sight holes closed. Great coastal views on the way up to the trig, and plenty of WW2 history in the surrounding area.

Can sort of see over to Swansea Bay. Situated in the nature reserve. Old bunker and gun batteries about. Enjoyed the history here. Went for a stroll to Caswell Bay and back then.

YSM443 Mumbles Hill Terrain 1.5 (due to high parking area) Difficulty 1.5 Both very tired teds by now but more YOSMs on the list yet to bag! Mr U2 spotted a high parking spotted so we headed up the narrow streets and were soon at the top and then faced with a relatively flat walk to the trigpoint, sure the views are stunning in daylight!

#305 P#224 P2016#24. Spotted a car park on map which didn't involve stairs. Off we went in the dark along a good track past WW2 items then found the trig and the cache. Woo hoo. I'm sure the views are great in daylight.

Parked in Braclet Car Park. Price has gone up since Peregrinus was here. Walked up to diagonal path and got wet legs after recent rain. Decent track up to aerials and then on. Remarkably undamaged for a towny pillar. Views over bay now beginning to disappear as the vegetation grows. Glowering clouds over Swansea and the Independent Republic of there Welsh valleys.

Visited at dusk. Just a short way to ride on the cycleway into Swansea and a train home having visited friends locally. Disappointed to have only logged two today. One missing and two couldn't find access through undergrowth.

Hi, I'm Big Fish and I am the main Trigpointer and Geocacher from the Fishteers. I now have my own name and so I am back logging all the Trigs that I found with the Fishteers, I am logging the find on the same day that I found it with the Fishteers and am then deleting that log. Big Fish and MicroFish visited this Trig today as we ran out of time when we were in the area on the 30/07/11 for the Picnic at The Big Apple event as part of Mega Wales. This pillar is very visible and easily accessible being at the side of a walked footpath. I parked in a car park on the promenade using the non-transferable parking ticket that I had obtained at Black Pill! Then walked up the steps to the top of the cliffs and the pillar. In good condition although the plug has gone walk about. Stunning views over Swansea from up here.

I parked at SS6221485709 Thistleboon Drive dedicated parking for the nature reserve. This has easy access to trig via paths and lots of local history from WWII. I saw Oystermouth Castle from here and was glad after i decided to pay it a visit.

vgc, remains of brown resin plug, by seat at summit of scrubby limestone headland. Fine view of Swansea Bay. Quick jog up and down in the rain. Car park to S: meter was out of order, normally £1 for 1 hour.

Excellent viewpoint. Bagged on a circular walk from Black Pill taking the coast in back from Pwlldu Bay.

Very nice views over the Mumbles. We found this one unexpectedly when out caching for GC8E77. Well worth the walk up the hill and, as we did, further around the hilltops of the Mumbles.

Lots of paths but if you park at Braclet bay dont be tempted to head directly back after 20 mins I can confirm I didn't find a route through the gorse and traversed back to the main path. Would have uploaded some pretty twinkling Swansea lights but the batteries ran out and my spares were in the GPS :-)

Good views over Swansea Bay. We approached it from the West where there is parking for the Nature Reserve. The top of the hill is overgrown but a path leads past the trig. Plug missing.

There I was trig bagging in East Gower yesterday thinking I was the first to bag this group only to look at the web site today and realise the extraordinary coincidence that three of us were in the area the same weekend. The only one I got to first was this one on Mumbles Hill and missed the others by less than half an hour!!! The trig overlooks Swansea Bay and bought back lots of memories as I spent six years in college here. Good condition except plug missing and not replaced. A swearing tent was pitched nearby and sounds like it was still cursing 25 mins later!

New nature reserve with gravel paths, there would be fine views of Swansea bay but today was in thick mist.
