A fine stone pillar with far reaching views up the Eskdale Valley. Alas, I couldn't celebrate his last Marilyn - Hard Knott. Time was not on my side. So Muncaster is gifted to FT, whom I have always admired for his quirkiness. Long may it last.

An excellent view point for the Scar Fells and more, and with very little effort to achieve, only 750 feet of ascent from Fell Lane.

Muncaster Fell summit and Trig point. A fantastic view point for the Sca Fells for such little effort.

I took advice from Peter Frost-Pennington, TVI FMD Carlisle and General Manager of Muncaster Castle, so I walked all the way along the ridge to 174 metre point before returning to the car park as time was not an issue on a rest day from FMD which I left on 30/05/2002.
