From mapped car park to S. Good track all the way. Quite a striking hill, with the pillar standing off ~60m E from the summit's 1810 Grade II listed Jubilee Tower. The tower commemorated George III's Golden Jubilee, there was a 1970 restoration after many decades of being left to the elements. But more importantly there's the trig pillar! Unfortunately it needs a restoration of its own to get it back to a decent colour scheme, and touch up the superficial chipping and otherwise erosion. Centre cap missing, no plug. although there is the residue of a plug around the rim of the tube; rear sight hole open. Extensive views.

Panoramic views from the top. I was disappointed to see the trig covered in paint and with a smiley face on the side. I have the greatest respect for the Welsh colours but what has been done to this trig is nothing short of cultural vandalism.

Climbed from South Car Park up well made track to summit. Sadly mist and rain descended and lost us all views. Nicely painted trig. Score reflects stunning panaromas avilable from the summit but denied to us this time.

I took a diversion on my way back to Sheffield after visiting my son and his partner on the Wirral (baby due in august, grandad to be for the third time, fingers crossed. As a father's day treat he kindly invited me over...to do some decorating. No problem, it was smashing to see them and help out.) The trig is in a forest park with a range of trails to the top. The longer easier ones have good views, the shorter ones are steeper and through woodland. I did short and steep to the top and long on return. The trig was a surprise, my son didn't let on, and to see it freshly painted in the Welsh flag colours. Great 360 deg panoramic views from the nearby monument of N Wales, Dee estuary, the Wirral, Mersey estuary and a hazy Liverpool in the distance. Well worth the effort on a hot day. (I make no apology for including personal details, they are happy reminders of the day by putting the trig in its wider context.)

Last one of 5 day...parked in main car park. Various routes up to the trig but we joined up with Offa’s Dyke Path. Steep climb in places and lots of loose slate making walking a little difficult. Too many people around to score this higher....though most not interested in trig and up there to visit Jubilee Tower.

Parked in the car park on Bwich Penbarras. Took the public right of way (PRoW) through Clwyd Forest up to the pillar, which involves an ascent of around 260 metres. The pillar is next to the Jubilee Tower, which was built between 1810 - 1817 for the golden jubilee of King George III. There is some slight cracking in the column around the area level with the top of the flush bracket. The cap is missing from the spider

Followed the well-signed circular walk, which takes about two hours, within the Moel Famau Country Park, just off the A494. The lower car park is a pay on entry and accepts cash only (£2). The trig looks like it has been whitewashed quite recently; the crack near the base is still visible. Score of 8 awarded for outstanding views,

With C. from Coed Moel Famau car park after getting our energy reserves built up at Mold Lidls! Very popular walk on a fine and clear day. Quite a steep climb at times on good paths. Nice artwork on the pillar which is rather cracked. FB and spider in place but no cap. Fantastic all round views. Same route back.

Day 5 of 13: Anglesey to Holmfirth Walk. From camp at Bodfari via Penycloddiau, Moel Arthur and Moel Dywyll, some steep climbs! Trig near to Jubilee Tower with a painted rock on it with a message to a former lover saying "Please leave here". So we did. Hopefully later visitors will do so too. Cracking around pillar. Mist down so no views unfortunately. Not marked down for this, but for the busy summit, people who think they can leave litter or let their dog sniff your bag. The car park to the south allows an easy approach for too many people for any solitude. Big thanks to the kind people of Llanarmon who let us stay at their community pub when the extremely rude person at Allt Gymbyd campsite refused to let us camp.

ODP#18: busy, and don't get me started on litter louts and folk who believe in the dog poo fairies! But excellent views on a very windy but clear day - including Liverpool. Third highest trig on the ODP (highest on the northern section but Hay Bluff and North Daren on the southern section are higher). All s/holes and centre open, small crack at FB level, but otherwise good condition.

Gloriously sunny day for the walk up from the pub in Cilcain. Lovely direct and clear route with only a couple of boggy patches. Trig point itself being put to use as a picnic facility and rather dwarfed by the Jubilee Tower. It takes around 2 minutes to kick a small rugby ball from the trig, round the tower and back to the trig. Fab views.

Revisit in area so decided to climb via the offas dyke route to the west which was a much easier ascent with much better views.Lots going on at the summit again this time a British Heart Foundation fundraising 10 k fell run event.As ever the Mountain Rescue were on medical cover for the event team members on the checkpoints struggling to keep warm in the bitter wind giving up there saturday morning to help the public.The wiews today were even better than last time with snowdonia clear of mist as well.

Parked at first car park followed steep tracks to the top,great views from here but a bit to busy for me.Trig in vgc no plug,a lot of LDWA members out today on an event, walked back down with two ladies doing the open to offa's 30 mile hiking route i asked if it was a dating event!

Took a while to get to this one despite trying to park a little higher up the hill. It was very hot and this seemed to slow me down even further. All worth it for stunning views and an interesting monument at the top plus a Poke gym which kept Mr U2 amused for a while whilst I got my breath back!

Parked car at a dead end road and took a wee track across fields where one of us took a slip and a roll in the cow pats. Then onto the main track then another one going to the top. Loved the Interesting old tower at the top which has been greatly restored. Looks as if it's straight out of mordor. A favourite location for me. Cheers.

he highlight of the day, visiting the summit of Mothers bare hill. Opting for the easier blue route the going wasn't too bad, I was at the summit a lot sooner than I was expecting to be, which was handy as it would allow me to get something to eat, but, it turns out there wasn't a McD's up there, pity, I was looking forward to a Big Mac and fries. The views from the Mothers bare hill, even with the haze, were excellent and the view over to home, Ffynnon Garw, was truly unbelievable.

I have visited Moel Fammau on three previous occasions but this was the first time that I'd come specifically to see the trig. Today was an extra special day as this was my final Clwyd trig and thus completed the region of North Wales for me. A task I unwittingly set out on over two years ago with Great Ormes Head TP0174. Good views today in spite of a lack of sunlight. The pillar is in good condition considering it's in such an easily accessible location. There is some cracking around the pillar at the top-of-FB level and some minor chips off the top but generally it's OK. The plug is missing. Traces of paint. Base exposed at grass level and there are a network of flat stones in the grass at the base of the pillar. Nice spot!

Out with my walking group - The Irregulars, LDWA - and our leader brought us up here whilst undertaking a circular walk called Offas Hike. Pillar is easily accessible and highly visible. In good condition apart from missing plug. Lovely view point although at the time of the visit it was blowing a gale and lashing down with rain so it was something of a comfort to be quickly on our way off the top.

Must be one of North Wales most visited points with easy access and ascent. But the views are terrific and we could see back to my home on the Wirral. The monument is in good order but is exposed and it was blowing a hoolie, so only a brief stay.

Was OSMan junior seeks shelter from the wind! Dull and very windy day, visibility not at it\'s very best but still great views

Set out from our holiday cottage in Mold, on a very hot day without a cloud in the sky. A stiff exhausting climb up from Loggerheads, but we still went to walk 10.75 miles, handily found a pub later in day

Visited this while out mountain biking, good mad track from the top back down through the forestry. I will be visiting this one quite a lot over the next few weeks as I’ll be working on Moel Fammau. I'll try and remember my camera.

Not at highest point. Jubilee Tower is higher. Walking Offa's Dyke path between Bwlch Penbarras and Rhuallt. Icy head wind felt more like January than May.

My local Trig, 10 mins in the car from home. Today I made the ascent from Cilcain, much steeper and avoids the hoards in shell suits and high heels. Finished the days walk by heading along ODP to Moel Arthur and back to Cilcain. A much recommended walk. The Trig appears in pretty good condition (compared to many in this area) and is complete with OS GPS plates.

Great walk up here today with super views in all directions. Jubilee tower built on the top of this hill. Came by here a couple of years ago but didn't note the number. Well worth coming back.

Good condition, with new plate (1999) saying part of the GPS network. No letter with number, Is a primary TP Public. The picture shows it at its worst! Better ones in better weather later

Went up to NorthWales looking for snow, but none. So went up Fammau for a second time. Very painful in ski boots. Jubilee tower as ugly as ever.
