Would be idyllic spot if it was not for the noise from the M74. Accessed from underpass. The picture was pure coincidence.

Parking ok near farm underpass on W side A702 (E side M74). 500m walk to FBM. Located approx 50m from motorway, successfully camouflaged by clump of sedge grass and a coating of moss, GPS took me straight to me. Cement screed on all top edges damaged. Height tag in place but no height info stamped into it.

Easy enough find when accessed from the underpass to the north. Nearest safest spot for parking is in nearby Crawford. With GPS, walked right up to the thing. Located to the east of the copse in a small clump of rushes. Slightly dinged on the top. Height tag is present but appears blank!

Couldn`t find it last summer but was looking in the wrong place.Easy to find this morning with this grid ref and someone having clipped the rushes. With your back to the motorway and facing the copse you will see a pile of 4 large rocks.FBM is in a solitary clump of rushes about 10 metres to your right as in pic.

(This took me about twenty minutes to find because I had the grid reference from TP7217. There are two records for the Elvanfoot FBM - TP7217 & TP0501 - with slightly different grid references. This one (TP0501) seems to be the correct one. Also, shouldn't the Historic Use be set to FBM?)
