Parked near Boughrood school - crossed the road and followed the footpath up the hill - well marked footpaths. The path up the hill had turned into a stream, but other than that they were good paths up to the trig!

Parked at pull in at Pant yr allt and simple approach from south, Track could be seen in distance HP just up from there. Another super 360 view spot in amongst the ferns. 1 sight hole open, painted with dragons and lovely quote on side. Spider Flush Bracket and cap in place but painted.

2/2 from Bryncheiniog Forest. Parked at the picnic site and walked first to Crickadarn, then down the valley side and back up to summit Mynydd Fforest. Easy access via PROW. Pillar stands proudly on the hill overlooking the surrounding hills and valleys. Painted white and displaying dragons. Pillar in good condition with spider, plug and FB intact.

Quite a fair bit later getting up here than expected, but still very straightforward to locate in the dark with plenty moonlight to guide the way.

Easy walk up from the cattle grid to SE (SO 1143 3864), other parking spots are available. Pillar retains original centre cap, raised lettering; rear sight hole open. All metalwork heavily over-painted. Extensive panoramic views.

1/2, prelude to Real Ale Ramble. From pull in off A470 by bridge over Wye at Trericket mill. Lanes and tracks to open hillside. All flattish areas of hill top had fern cut and bailed. Excellent profile of Blacks and central Beacons, then the rain swept in, driven violently by strong, cold north wind. There's not much shelter behind a pillar!

Pillar in good condition newly painted white with welsh dragon emblemand owners plate. Metal cap. Easy walk up from unfenced road along track . Very hazy today so could not see views.

Easy to locate and access, exceptional views and a great feel to it. This is the kind of trig point you do it for. The kind that makes up for all the brambles, rough scrambles and rain. Visited while supporting walkers doing the Wye Valley

After 6 Nutalls and 3 revisits I though I would finish with a new trig. Walked in the 1.25km from the SW corner of the common. Roads easy from the S but narrower as I continued on to Erwood. Nicely intact and whitewashed and the farmer had even cut and bailed the bracken for me. Could however be hard work in parts in bracken season

took a while to get to this one tried via road at SO088410,dont try without a 4X4 ,i havent and it could be a problem managed to turn round and go back through gated farmyard .! Pillar itself good with excellent views.
