From the quarry car park. Around quarry and onto RoW. Bit of a path. Most of the area above about 490m is decimated by fire as far as the eye can see. Low cloud on surrounding hills, great views imagine on a clearer day.

Second trig of the Christmas Eve bagging trip. Parked by farm at bottom of the hill. Short walk up. Weather not improved still in a thick pea soup of fog. Trig stood in an amazing location surrounded by Cairns. Good condition and FB intact.

Parked at nearby car park to the North. Followed track out and footpath to trig. A little wet but expected. Track has cairns which lead to top of hill from where outcrop is visible. Well defined track leads to mid point and left from there. Did a loop back to a short cut I'd noticed on the way to edge of quarry. Could have come this way but looked a little steep and slippery but chanced it on the way back! Trig cap/plug missing but spider and Flush Bracket in place. Trig has crack on the easterly side base but has a good vantage point to the surrounding area.

Walked west from car park below quarry / crags on track to footpath which turn south towards trig point. Roughly followed line of footpath on faint paths to trig point. Getting a bit late and starting to rain, spoiling the views.

Social walk from Crickhowell, returned via "the lonely shepherd"- impressive.

Walked from Brynmawr up the southern slopes - past a very 'dodgy' yard just behind the school. Route a bit desolate although the drained and disused reservoir but with huge water tower still present gave it a surreal atmosphere. So route not recommended, but views from top towards Black Mountains are recommended.

After a 13.2 mile walk on Mynydd Bwllfa and Craig-Y-Llyn we bagged Mynydd Llangattwg (Twr Pen-Cyrn) trig, nicest one of the day.

Good parking to be had NE on the minor road below the escarpment, leaving a walk of approx 1 mile up onto the plateau and across rough heathland to the trig. Excellent views E to the Black Mountains (better than those to the west). The trig has it's centre hole open (and stuffed with some corase green plastic), there is a serious looking horizontal crack that extends all the way round the pillar near the base, and some chipping to the top edge. 1 sight hole open (beneath the flush bracket); the other 3 have been closed. Lettering/numbering on the flush bracket look as though they have been ground down.

Parked in the car park to the north having driven up the steep and narrow road from Llangatock. I went to a geocache first near the entrance to the cave then up to the moor and accross to the stoney summitt. The trig stands next to a giant stone shelter with another similar one to the south.

Rugged landscape that we all enjoy. We started at the school in Brynmawr but the track was blocked so we had a bit of bank bashing at start.

Set out from Craig y Cilau with good friends and my younges ttrying to place a new multi-cache nearby. Having visited the escarpment below many times over +30 years this was the first time I'd made the top. Beautifully crazy day with glorious sunshine and fantastic vis one minute and squalling blizzard the next - guess what it was when we made the summit! Too cold in the driving snow to stay long but I got to dance on the trig with Micky, the first dance in many a year! (We used to collect trig's we'd both danced on many a year ago, well before the WWW, Trigpointing.com, probably even dinosaurs?!)

Grom tops it in a blizzard!
