I really enjoyed this visit. Parked in the car park on the mountain road and walked along the grassy track to the quarry. I didn't climb soon enough and overshot the position of the pillar. Short walk back and great spot for lunch. Followed the path back down to the quarry and car. Flipping windy today but clear views as far as Pen y Fan.

Replaced an old pillar on same location, remains of which can be seen around this pillar. Parking at roadside car park approx 1 mile to the NE on B4560. Pleasant walk across rough heathland that masquerades as a footpath - lots of interesting shake holes (aka sink holes). Visited this trig on way to HuMP of the same name a further 1.5 miles to SW (close to Chartists' Cave - worth a visit). Pillar in good condition standing on a plinth. Centre hole has a bitumen plug (might be cement), all sight holes open, pillar has had coat of white paint some time ago. Some of the numbers/letters on flush bracket suffered some damaged, but all are readable. Good 360 views.
