Parked in small car park on road SE of pillar. Followed forestry tracks but gave in to the temptation to short cut once S of the trig. The attempt failed amid awful bog and fallen trees. Back onto the track and finaly gained the pillar from the NW. Carried on to Moel Tonmawr.

Parked at forest car park on minor road to SE. Walked good forest vehicle tracks until close to trig then off piste over marshy, v. uneven ground to trig, located on a little raised area so dry under foot - lunch stop! Pillar is in good condition; original cap in place; 1 sight hole open. Young conifer plantation around it so no views.

It seems that most of those that have logged this trig have been in search of a certain puzzle cache. A beautiful day. Took a much harder route over the last few 100 feet than I needed to. Trig in great condition. Found benchmark on the way back down.

Parked at Brombil and followed the path along the stream up to TP5003 then accross the woodland walks to the trig. I recommed doing these two together in one hit. Views to North are good but there is a lot of young trees blocking views at the trig.

We didn't choose the best weather for our walk, so views were limited, but we could still enjoy some spectacular steep-sided valleys. The trig point sits on a dry mound surrounded by a wet tussocky plateau - not easy walking at this time of year.
