3/3 from Cross Hands. From pillar at Llannon reservoir, took quiet road to Llannon and lane to bottom of valley, which again, although marked as lane and FP on OS map became a thick tangle of brambles at the bottom. Learning from experience that the paths in this area were not well maintained I prudently avoided the direct FP to Mynydd Sylen and took the minor road to the west but was tempted by the lane and FP past Sylen Ranch, which, although good at first, soon deteriorated into tangle of brambles. Eventually reaching road below summit masts. The FP from the road leads past the masts with the pillar on rough ground just over a low fence. This felt a real high point, certainly the highest point enclosed by the Towy and Llwchwr valleys. Snow capped Black Mountain to NE and the whole sweep of Gower to the south with Worms Head stretching out from the SW tip lit up in the setting sun. Continued along FP over the summit and descending towards Pontyberem until I crossed disused railway track (16.05), now reincarnated as Sus-Trans route 47, which led me gently back to Cross Hands (17.30). Did wonder if the excellence of this track had sucked all the money away from FP maintenance in this area.

Walked up from Cynheidre along the old railway (now cycle path). Beautiful views across the estuary to Worms Head and Tenby. Sat at top of hill next to transmitter’s. Trig in good condition with spider and FB intact

Surroundings would be alot better without radio masts, building, rusty fence, rubbish by gate. However views just about make up for it.

A little worn but easy to get to. Up track from road next to masts in next field. Horses in field are friendly. Plinth base appears good. Plate and spider in place plug missing.

laughably attrotious weather. made a very short walk feel like a bit of a mission. flytipping at roadside, will never understand this. trig in good condition though as wet and miserable as me. no views.could barely see the masts from the trig.

Parked at access track to masts, on minor road to SE. Not sure where previous logger scrambled from, but we did short walk up to hill summit and trip. Pillar in good condition approx 50m E of comms compound, in fallow field. Cap missing, no plug; all sight holes closed, with front cement plug breaking up. Extensive 360deg views.

Good view but otherwise a bit of an unloved summit with the ugly masts, tatty barbed wire fences and rubbish at the nearest parking spot - a bit disappointing considering its historical significance as the site of the Great Rebecca Meeting!

Cap missing with all sights sealed... a pink tint peeps out from below the pillars wind-beaten white surcoat. Nice view and I'm reliably informed that the mast carries a lot of the Emergency frequencies. :)

You can get to this trig point without stepping over the barbed wire from the road at certain times of the year - but I must admit it was under the barbed wire I went. Fantastic views all round.

Nightime visit when travelling. Barbed wire a pain, but its all because of some verminous little goml who does not like public footpaths. Good views of streetlights and lighthouses.
