Parked on grassy verge N of Wernlas and followed permissive path then right-of-way to access land. These paths were very muddy/boggy in places even after the long dry spell we've had so would be awful in wet conditions. Once on access land headed in a roughly straight line to pillar. Good view N.

Farmer has tied gate so no chance getting 2 big dogs over the style. So went Cwm Cadlan way boggy but such stunning views

Walked in from the "hotel" and cant but think there are better ways forest paths are a mess. I'm not sure why this is logged as damaged. there are a few significant cracks but nothing compared to some upland trigs. great sunset and good views today.

Walked from Hotel next to Bryn Du storage site on A465. Not the best route. Bridleway marked on map through forestry does not exist so had to battle through trees until I reached forestry track. My last Mid Glamorgan trigpoint.

The view of the big cylindrical tank at Bryn Du is a gas storage facility for the National Grid.

Lovely walk in quiet Beacons surroundings. Boggy start from the NW on permissive path that by- passes farm.Steady climb up slope then follow the ridge with good views. Pillar near stone shelter. Extensive surface cracks on all faces mean it goes down as damaged.

vgc, ?mortar plug. Intact but network of deep open cracks. Near large tumulus & even larger shake hole, mixture of heather & limestone scenery. Incongruous industrial installation to SE.

We parked just past the entrance to Wern-las farm. A pleasant walk up through shepy fields and roughish moorland to the trig. Good views of the big cylindrical tank at Bryn Du (what's it for?). The pillar is intact but very badly cracked. Tarmac plug.
