Originally marked it as damaged on grounds of the vandalism by pushing a plastic bottle hard down into the theodolite mount. Revised description when the site automatically questioned that assessment.

The Eccentric inventor Harry Grindell-Matthews had a Bungalow and Laboratory on the top of this hill at Tor Clawdd. Close to the trigpoint. He was born in Winterbourne, Bristol in 1880 and fault and was injured twice in the Boar War. He invented amongst other things a Robot Boat, controlled by a light beam and a Death Ray which could stop engines and kill. He also produced the first Mobile phone of sorts. Called the Aerophone it allowed you talk to pilots from the ground. He produced an early talking film of Shakleton before he went to the Antactic and projected images onto the cloud base at 6000ft using a beam of light. The words Merry Christmas and an Angel appeared above London in 1930. He died here on the 11th of September 1941. Churchill called him a genius but now nobody remembers him.

Parked at the junction of the road and track to Tor Clawdd Farm. Walked uphill into an open field of cows.. quite wary of them.. do you find it eerie how they stare at you and watch your every move? Instead of a plug, there is a plastic bottle. Very good views over the Swansea and Loughor Valleys.
