Open Access land with no obvious access point. Who decides these things ?. Parked at roadside to south and through open gate and track towards a second gate onto open fell. Great views from trig point, a little misty and starting to rain. Cattle grazing near top.

Roadside verge parking to S; field margins and a stock fence to gain open access land, then sparse gorse to top of Castell Odo, an IA hill fort. Pillar has an exceptionally smooth screed finish all over, a pristine pillar, in fact if there was a recruiting programme for trig pillars, this would be the poster boy (or girl, given the physiognomy). The original top cap, with raised lettering, has been retained; rear sight hole open. Outstanding panoramic sea and landscapes, with Bardsey Island prominent behind headland.

The third (or fourth) on a walk from Aberdaron. Can see my complete route from up here. Glorious day but mist limiting view to a couple of miles.

Parked at Rhosirwaun village hall then followed the prow from Cae Du until it ended then headed straight for the pillar. Access land surrounded by 3 barbed wire fences! Pillar in pristine condition with original cap.

Bit of a nightmare to access. Followed footpath which the landowner doesn't want to admit to as the sign doesn't exist. Through gate, look left for the stile and follow vague path uphill. Over fixed wooden gate and continue uphill to three part barbed wire fence. 50 yds to TP. return journey took in some pretty big and aggressive looking Tup Rams.

Attempted a circular walk from Porth Oer but had great problems on inland paths as most don't exist and had to force my way through hedges and over fences. approached from lane from North West. A good spot to have lunch with views.

Metal plug [raised letters]. Very easy little hill, round & grassy appearance, but gorsey top. Earthen ramparts of Castell Odo hill fort clearly discernible. Public. Access Land, but ironically not easy to access - can be reached across pasture from public footpath to north east [Rhoshirwaun side], but necessary to negotiate perimeter fence. May be easier access from gate further along B4413.
