Turn off the A543 onto lane which goes to Gors Nug. Park on bend near large new farm building. Followed Hiraethog Trail through farm on out towards open access land , turning northeast on footpath which heads directly towards trig point. the path is a little faint in places with the last 200m through heather to the top. Great views.

Not the easiest trig to get to but we'll worth the effort if you've got good visibility, which we had today. Cap is missing and only two of the sight holes were open. The sea beyond the Rhinogau on the west coast and off the North coast could be made out together with the ranks of wind turbines. South were the Berwyns, Arans, then Rhinogau and Moelwyns to the SW round to the 3000s. Was that the Lleyn or Anglesey in the haze?

The plan was to walk along the footpath and then turn up towards the trigpoint. However we couldn't spot a footpath so just made a beeline from main road to the trigpoint, tough but we got there in the end.

Small circular Hafod-Dynbych, followed paths and trails up to Mwdwl-Eithin trig, then made our own trails back to the car, nice wilderness views from this trig, We walked on Carnedd Dafydd and Pen Yr Ole Wen earlier that day in sun, we looked back at that direction from this trig and saw Snowdonia plunged into cloud.

First trig point of the year for me. A lovely break in the stormy weather we've been having over the Christmas and New Year period. I had still and mild conditions for this ascent from the north where there's a handy layby about a quarter of a mile north of the start of the footpath. It gets a bit heathery towards the very top.
