Another winter invisible. Plenty of parking available, I chose Morrisons down Mayo Avenue. Walked back up to roundabout at end of 606 for a view of where the trig would have been according to other logs. Unable to get closer due to motorway regulations. Dark so no views. Roll on summer and the mountains and fells, but trigbagging is nothing if not a varied hobby. This may have been a better place once....

Log #86. (199m). By car. Parked around corner then trespassed onto the off ramp of the M606 to get a shot of this location. Prior to all the development in this area and before excavations, there would have been excellent views from this trig, triangulating with Rombalds Moor and The Chevin to the NNW and NNE respectively.

Newhall Trigpoint The pillar would have been sited about C of shot, just to the R of the small tree. It would of course have been about 6 meters higher altitude prior to excavations for the Motorway

Just a note about this trig.I ran and cycled around here quite a lot and I am dimly aware of seeing this trig in a different spot to the one suggested by the grid refs(but not far away)Perhaps it was moved by the motorway people.I think it could possibly be on the small road running parellel to the M606 at about SE1651830140?I hope to be in the vicinity soon to check-hope this is not a wild goose chase-apologies if it is
