Walked up side of the hill from the TT course below - couldn't see much as Mannanan's cloak had descended over the ridge. Nice views from lower down,

Yomped along ridge via Black Hut from Snaefell, testing my new walking poles. Cracked it in 90 mins or so. 30 mph winds battered right ear all the way along and the top was shrouded in cloud but views from the ridge were lovely. Long descent into Ramsey took another 90 mins and shredded knees and quads but this was my first proper yomp in many years so I was chuffed.

Went up with friends and attended to the annual paint job. Pillar adopted in 1994.

The annual paint job. Every year this gets done the paint tin gets heavier not lighter.
The Work Party. The finished effect can be seen from most places around.
Archive. The late Jim Ireland. Jim adopted the Pillar on 12th August 1994 and kept it in good order until he died when I willingly inherited the \"duty\".
