Parked at Llanthony Priory, followed the route to Hatterall Ridge to bag the Rhiw Arw trig point first then continued along the ridge path to bag North Daren. There's an alternative route back to the priory marked with a stone waymarker that I followed - quite steep, wouldn't fancy going up or down it in the wet!

2/3 from Llanthony Priory via Bal Mawr and the Beacons/Cambrian ways. Walked up on PROW from Capel Y Ffin. Trig sits on Offa’s Dyke overlooking the Olchon Valley and Black Hill. Trig is in good condition with the spider and FB intact.

Walked up to Hatterall Ridge via the fantastic Black Darren, then headed N to the pillar. Superb views on a beautiful day. Pillar about a metre or so on the Herefordshire side of the border, somebody has actually scratched "England" on it. Descend via Red Darren. Taken me a while to bag this one but was worth the wait. Also my first log in over a year, hopefully get back into the Trigpointing spirit!

ODP#5: a 350m climb up from Llanthony, in the rain and a whiteout. And we are supposed to be on holiday? Centre and SE s/hole open, seemed otherwise to be in vgc in the two nanoseconds we stopped there.

Another one of those trigs in the Black Mountains - my favourite walking area in the Brecons. High up on Offa's Dyke path overlooking the Vale of Ewyas to the east and God's country to the west. Trig was in good condition.

Well my 600th pillar and a lovely one too.Had been past a few years ago on Offas Dyke path ,lovely views all around and a nice short pull up from parking below Red and Black Darren rocks.

Really should count as a Herefordshire trig, or half of one. Absolutely no sign of a summit here, just endless ridge in each direction. Wopuld have been great views if the weather forecast had been as promised.

Many of the more boggy sections of path on this ridge have now been improved by the addition of large stone slabs. If the weather is good as it was today then this ridge is pleasant though I can imagine that in inclement weather its a bit of hike. A feature of the trigs on this ridge is that they are not on the highest points. The trig itself stands on a paved concrete base and the plug is missing.
