Most direct route (from Sheffield Country Walk PROW) is also the most conspicuous route. Given the plethora of PRIVATE PROPERTY - KEEP OUT signs I decided "getting a little lost" probably wouldn't wash as an excuse if I were caught trespassing. Walked round to nearby buildings to request permission but they were guarded by large security gates and barking dogs so I decided to try a more covert approach from Barnes Lane via a couple of fields instead. Was just about to enter fields at bottom of the valley when a policewoman on horseback came along the track !! Eventually decided to leave this one for another day. Perhaps a dawn raid may be in order !!
