Car park conveniently located about a kilometre north east of the hill. Pleasant walk along part of the South Downs Way. Pillar located inside an ancient hill fort. An observation post next to the pillar indicates what is to be seen in the various directions. Although a sunny morning, distant views were obscured by haze. Extra points for all round views and historical spot.

Trig and toposcope sit together between two mounds in a hillfort which commands spectacular views in most directions. Many of the logs for this trigpoint praise the site for its scenery and views. Having made my first visit I can now understand why. Haze limited visibility to less than 20 miles (The IOW could just be seen), but the views were still superb. The pillar is in fairly good condition, apart from a missing plug.
