Surprisingly delightful on a sunny day with great views of Wembley and the spires of the extraordinary Shri Vallabh Nidhi Mandir Hindu Temple on nearby Ealing Road- visit recommended. Part of a 16 mile tump and trig walk around Harrow and Wembley.

I didnt go back to canal to get to this one. Though I think I should have. I went along London roads at rush hour instead. As I was able to keep to side roads most of the time it wasnt too bad. Trig is at top of an open patch of ground that is surrounded by litter. Everything from beer cans to discarded clothing. Trig has graphiti all over it. It only has the views to recommend it. That is why its mark wasnt even lower.

Bagged as YSM0248 One Tree Hill Recreation Ground. Mr U2 was so looking forward to this one as it's a U2 song. Unfortunately it's not the nicest of areas as it's pretty litter strewn but it does have pretty good views. Mr U2 put the U2 song on while we took our photos. I was so looking forward to this one as it's a U2 song. Unfortunately it's not the nicest of areas as it's pretty litter strewn but it does have pretty good views. I put the U2 song on while we took our photos.

Was expecting a lot worse with it declared as slightly damaged. There are worse in the Yorkshire dales national park. Interesting area and great view of Wembley

Pillar in no worse condition than many marked as 'good', there is some chipping from the top edges and cap is missing (asphalt plug inserted), but otherwise it's ok. Has a 'BSM' style FB; rear sight hole only open. Nice park, and surprisingly no passport needed for access! Extensive views, particularly E to the Stadium.

Found as YOSM 248. Parked in nearby residential road for a quick dash up to the TP. Sadly, it has been graffitied and the area had lots of litter surrounding it and several groups of men wandering around. Great views, especially over to Wembley Stadium. Not a TP to find in the dark!

Up in London for the weekend and a lovely wall to wall blue sky day so decided to complete the missing link in our Grand Union Canal walk from Alperton to Bulls Bridge, and collect three trigs along the way. This the first, at the start in a park, easy walk up from the tube station. Some graffiti, and surrounding litter, but otherwise in good condition (no obvious reason why it should be classed as slightly damaged). Views all round, particularly good to north, incl Wembley Stadium. Asphalt cap, NE s/hole open, all otherwise present and correct.

Mrs Trig gave me some time off from sight seeing. So I was up bright and early to bag a couple of London trigs, this being the first.The trig looks like a street art gallery. Obviously there was a show last night due to all of the empty cans and broken glass. It must have been a good night! Glad I was not there!

The 4th trig on my journey from Barn Hill, took the train northbound from Wembley Park and then changed at rayners lane to Alperton. Trig about 5 mins from station. In decent conditions but for the grafitti that lets the side down. Looked rather suspicious taking pictures of concrete pillar while gangs were circulating the area, so didnt hang around long!

Like Late Starter we came over from Horsenden Hill via the canal. Pleasant enough view, good view of New Wemberleeeee Stadium. As LS says the nearby Hindi temple is looking VERY impressive. NCOF

Walked to trig from Horsenden Hill pillar. Sad to see a trig covered in graffiti, but was fascinated to see the new Hindu Temple being built in nearby Alperton. Tarmac plug.

The second of two YOSM trig points visited today. Some inconsiderate person had decided to top themselves by jumping under a tube train a little while earlier and consequently there were no Piccadilly Line trains to Alperton so I had to walk up from Hanger Lane. Itís a pity some mindless morons have nothing better to do than spray graffiti and smash bottles on harmless trig-points; the base was littered with broken glass. The T/P is in good condition apart from the graffiti and a resin plug. Nice view of the new National Stadium at Wembley.
