We walked the footpath that loops round Cole's Tump then goes into the corner of Mynde Wood to reach the trig point. The footpath down to the quarry is O.K. till you reach the old lane, it's then a total mystery, I think we ended up exiting the route through somebodies property and down their drive to the road.

The pillar is highly visible but accessing it needs a bit of 'creativity'. I was hoping to be able to access it from what appeared on the map to be a track above Lower Butts but could not find it. Eventually asked at the under construction large hillside building and was happily pointed in the right direction through their grounds. Pillar is situated by a stand of trees in a cultivated field. Everything in good condition except for a missing plug. Lovely view point.
