(606) Parked up down Bracken Lane at the entrance to the farm. Permission was readily given to visit the pillar, but was warned about the electric fence "It's wired up to the mains, so if you touch it, you will feel it"! Field very muddy, and full of cows. A spot near to where I had parked had the best clearance for crawling under the fence. Pillar in good condition, though the base is exposed, and it's on a slight lean.

First of 3 (or what we planned of as 4, but we'd already bagged the 725 792 Grove Kennels a couple of years previously and forgotten about, and got scratched to bits in a fruitless search as hedge growth has well-hidden it) trigs of the day on walk with my mate, Tracker Dog, along Chesterfield canal round Retford. Asked at farm, family member had to phone dad for permission; "what for?" came up but we were allowed but be aware of the cows and the electric fence. Trig in rough ground area, fallen down tree and dumped JCB scoop. Views ok. Must use this site properly!

As I was leaving a lady returned and was somewhat concerned for my safety having been into the field with cows and young calves. Pillar is in good condition and still has an original plug.
