Now this is becoming a tale. Driving near Bayston Hill with my son, I thought I would take the time to locate it. (Having been to its site of origin on Overley Hill). Got there to find it had wandered off again. Just a patch of tarmac where it was! Visited an office next door to ask if they knew anything about the mysterious wandering block of concrete. They informed me that it had gone to Telford with Severn Partnerships. On leaving the office, my son looked over his shoulder to see the two receptionists looking at each other in a way that suggested I was a bit of. Nutcase! :)) . So sometime soon, I will be off to Hadley Park Road to track down Shropshire’s wandering trig point. Love it!

This was going to be the final pillar of my week bagging Welsh Marches trigs. Spent 20 minutes in a traffic jam on the A5 near Shrewsbury only to find on arrival at the site that it has gone. A recent patch of tarmac is the only evidence that it was ever there. A sign at the offices indicated that the premises have been let to new tenants. I just wanted to log my visit of the original site. Obviously the trig is no longer here but in Bayston Hill. It was nice to see where it was before going to where it is! Whilst I was here, I took some photos of the shropshire way. Not only did the construction of the road destroy the top,of the hill and take the trig point with it, it also cut across the Shropshire way. This leaves the footpath crossing a busy dual carriageway - madness! If you do visit this site, I suggest not crossing the A5 on foot.

It's that way Nice to visit the hilltop. No pillar.
