Caught the 118 bus from Middleton to Penmaen to meet the companion. A wonderful circular walk visiting the Oxwich peninsular (all the paths were new to me). The gifting of today's two pillars are for aging signs that just appear. The chance of a free lunch/meal overrides any other plans and gets you out of the house.

Parked in Oxwich Green on wide section of road near entrance to Caravan camping site. Then taking footpath across to castle and track S.E towards the trig point. A nice pleasant route to the trig point.

A long and surprisingly shallow path leads through a verdant wooded hill that's absolutely carpeted in white star-shaped flowers. Path is narrow and muddy, but extremely beautiful. It eventually opens out onto a sheepfield dotted with occasional rocks and gorse bushes, and of course a trig pillar. Nice view from the far edge of the field.

Out and back from Port Eynon along the Wales Coast Path. Approached the trigpoint from the South where a footpath splits from the coast path and heads up over the cliff and into farm fields. Lots of cute lambs in the field around the trigpoint.

Bagged this one whist on a 6.5 mile circular walk from Horton, the pillar is a short walk off the WCP and is in good condition with spider and FB in place although the plug is missing and filled, a fantastic morning giving spectacular views over the Gower Peninsular

Great Trig to find and third and last for today. Parked in Oxwich beach and walked up passed St Illtyds church steps and went left. Came to end of path and into field through FP gate and Tig was 100m into the field. Lots of Ewes and lambs in field so walked steadily as not to disturb them, worth the trip just to see them! Trig well protected in the field surrounded by slightly raised area with the odd rocky outcrop here and there. Trig in good condition, Plug missing on this one but Pillar Flush Bracket and spider are all good. Super views!!

Easy to locate and access when approached from castle, but it is a fairly ordinary pillar.

KF Added in as a diversion on a circular route using the Coast Path between Port Eynon. There is the FP right over the top but it appears that plenty of people must duck through the wire fence from the Coast Path's nearest approach as the strands of wire have been pinched together. View from trig in a close cropped grass field punctuated with gorse bushes, is a little disappointing as the summit is fairly flat, but you don't have to go far for views to open up. Chuffed to see a chough too.

Walked to this one from Bank Farm near Horton. Somehow we got totally lost on the coastal path and had to double back to find the path leading up to the high level. And then lost the plot again! Good to eventually find the trig and had a well deserved rest at Oxwich Castle before setting off back to the bungalow.

Bagging YSM207 Oxwich Terrain 5 (well it had been a long day and the route we took had a million steps and it was dark) Difficulty 1 After a long long day caching and trig and YOSM bagging, we'd frankly had enough. However a list is a list and you have to tick em off. Mr U2 spotted some steps on his map.me app and we headed for them. We'd started at dusk and somehow left the torches in the car so had to survive with iphones and GPSrs. After getting to the top of the steps it was a quick find but blimey were they a killer!

#303 P#223 P2016#23. Parked at beach then followed a track going by the church and then the never ending stairs. Yes, never ending, especially in the dark with no torch. Then up to top path and along track to field and then across to the trig. Then all the way back again.

Walked up from the village to the castle access. Followed PRoW through field of sheep. Pillar on a little exposed scar of limestone. Good views to the west. A delightful spot continued walk to end of Oxwich Point.

We walked up here from Oxwich bay on the final day of our holiday. We found the trig in the middle of the field (its aYOSM – see GC45CC) and then went to twom other caches up here. The sea views are excellent up here!

The pillar is highly visible and easy to access as it is on a public footpath. I parked in the car park (free) marked on the map and then used the footpath that slants across the wooded hillside to Oxwich Point where the trig is. Pillar is in good condition although the plug has gone walk about. An absolutely fabulous location.

Just to the south east of the trigpoint can be seen Maiden Castle, the remains of a Promontary Fort.

Plug missing. Parked at Oxwich and walked up through the wood and then back down the steps to the church. If you come at the right time of year the bluebells are amazing, otherwise the smell of wild garlic is amazing. Don't be put off by the noise of speed boats etc on the beach - if you walk up along the beach east towards Three Cliffs you escape all the noise etc.

Missing the thing in the top of the pillar - no idea what its called. Apart from that the condition was good and the weather fantastic for a bank holiday (or any other day). Found on the way to gower's pyramid cache.
