Parked at SN538294 in Cwm Cothi and climbed the County waymarked path from SN537296 to the road after about 1.25 miles. Sub-zero temp and any standing water frozen solid. N along road to forest track. On this track all trees to E have been felled and saplings planted. At nearest point, cut across to TP - v heavy going through tussock grass. Retraced track for half-a-mile then on tracks to SN540298. In darkness descended v steep forested slope to County path and back to start. Good walk/scramble.
