I was working when I bagged this one. Well, what I mean is, I should have been travelling from A to B but chose to travel via C (or T in this case). Having parked in the road by a field entrance on the right, walked down the track for about 20 yards, right through a gap in the low grass covered wall then aimed right to the trig in the field edge next to the road. There is a war time bunker near by too. There are views north towards Burnham-on-Sea up the Parrett estuary and west towards the North Somerset Coast. Right, back to work. Sssssh.

The pillar is sited inside a hedge between a minor road and a grass field on a small hill in a bend of the River Parrett; it is adjacent to a derelict ROC monitoring post and a pill box is nearby. The pillar is covered in ivy, it has FB S//3259 with a piece of string tied to it and it is plugged with concrete. The field side of the trig looks west and north to Hinckley Point Power Station, the Parrett Estuary, Brean Down, Steep Holm and Weston-super-Mare with Wales in the distance; beyond the ROC compound the line of the Mendips can be seen continuing towards Glastonbury Tor in the east. A gateway on the opposite side of the road looks out over the river to Bridgwater and the Quantocks. The wetlands of Bridgwater Bay are a SSSI.
