2/4 from Llanbedr. Walked up via Table Mountain and the Cambrian Way. Pillar toppled just by a Cairn, but all parts (apart from plug) seem present. Really interesting to see the inner block.

From Llandebr to Table Mountain and Pen Cerrig calch first. Had to rate high even through trig toppled due to outstanding views to Waun Fach, Mynydd Troed and Llangors and to the Central Beacons which I'm sure would be rammed today.

Second of the day and a super walk over and back from Crickhowell for a well earned coffee and cake! Met lovely couple and fellow triggers Eammon and Hannah as we descended to table Mountain too! Trig in several pieces but top portion (1m) whole. Spider and Flush Bracket are currently still there.

Poor trig pillar lying on its side in the rocks. Looks as though the concrete base of the pillar has crumbled resulting in its fall from the 'sight hole level'.

Sadly this pillar is in a sorry state these days! Wonderful views in all directions. There's a large stone cairn next to the pillar with seating made out of stones. Got a better idea of the inner workings of a trig pillar, as you can see right inside this one, due to large chunks of concrete being missing.

Quick run up the hill from Cwmdu to bag a couple of trig pillars

Very enjoyable walk although found it hard going. Parked in little layby at the bottom of the drive leading up to Perth-y-pia. Short steep climb up to Table Mountain then across to Pen Cerrig Calch for lunch. From here Pen Allt Mawr looks miles and miles away but only took 40 mins to reach it. The pillar is badly damaged from the concrete cracking and spalling away. Pen Cerrig pillar is also cracking in a similar fashion and obviously constructed by the same team all those years ago.

Parking at Green Cottage then over to Crug Hywel Fort then Pen Cerrig-calch, then on to Pen Allt-mawr, back via Pen Twyn Glas and back along the ridge. Pillar in a bad way looks to of been moved and cracked. Views amazing today.

Quite a bit of damage, especially at the base of the pillar. But the views more than make up for that. A lovely high level walk in the Black Mountains. We started from a bit north of Llanbedr taking in the hill fort at Crug Hywel and then Pen Cerrig-calch before hitting this trig, then continued north to Pen Twyn Glas before returning.

Enjoyed clear conditions, so the views were good through 360 degrees. The pillar has a significant lean and a number of cracks. Erosion around it has left it on a plinth of boulders.

on route to this from Pen cerrig-calch I had planned to do something new and went in search of Merlin's cache 5,even armed with the great clue that it's under a flatish boulder with heather behind( not many of then up here)I could not find it,anyway 1 evening soon I will go looking closer to home and track 1 down, moving back to the trig,it's seen better days but is hanging in there and the views from it are very good.

We'd visited this trig before whilst doing the "Black Mountains Roundabout" a 25 mile challenge walk to raise money for Mountain Rescue but this was before I started trigpointing. Visited today whilst geocaching in the area. No visability today, what a terrible summer.
