Parked at the start of Longford Lane, S of the Hotel. Done as part of a circular walk on mapped rights of way first taking in the Mynydd Drumau pillar. Continued S along good track to the long-deserted and derelict farm buildings then to the trig. Excellent birds eye view of Neath and Port Talbot.

We parked to the south west and followed the bridle path through the woods up to the open pasture. Don't try and access Pen Lan trig from the wood. Head up past Pen Lan farm, which is a complete ruin and, and go to it across the open pasture (which I discovered after trying via the wood). Excellent view of Neath and environs. The FB no is S4300 (S2059 is the no for Mynydd Drumau, which Crwydryn visited first). Tarmac/concrete plug.
