I’ve noticed before that some of the minor Cornish roads are not recognised by the ‘built in’ sat-nav system in my Peugeot; the ones leading up to this trig point being among them. The system took me as close as it could… which was not close enough so I had to fall back on my trusty 60CSx and Garmin Topo maps to finish the job. I eventually found the car park at Pentire Farm, paid my £1 and set off up the track. The pillar is situated a short distance off the Coast Path, in a field occupied by some totally disinterested sheep. There is a convenient gate, however. The pillar is built from local stone rather than cast concrete and is in good condition. Like most pillars I’ve visited on this trip, the centre plug has been taken. The views are well worth the visit.

This pillar has been rebuilt using what looks like local stone. It is therefore in good condition, other than the screw top is missing. It is easily accesible from the Costal Path and, as such, commands some of the best views you can find. If approached from inland, it is also "cycle friendly". Well worth a visit
