Second visit to this one, same details as no change, Except a lot dryer, quick drink and turn around. Back along the ridge for technically 7 trigs lol. Only 4 really, would have gone another way but time was against us! Long day Queens closed so stopped a bit further on for well deserved beverage!

Nice trig easy to reach following "Offa's Dyke" coming over from Craswall. Trig sitting on a circular island with stepping stones over the surrounding moat, nice touch. Trig painted white with red dragon. Pillar has slight cracking but Flush Bracket, Spider in place, no plug, with additional little plate at the rear! No view today mist low, walk was great though!

An exercising 30 minute walk up from the car park by the "Stone Circle" (but only one stone is standing) onto the misty mountain, revealed a decorated pillar and some fell ponies standing guard. The pillar was in goodish condition and further protected by a shallow moat. Returning to the car down the north east shoulder allowed us to witness the shepherds bringing the sheep down to the valley below. Quite an exercise, but mostly for the border collies.

Revisit. The pillar has acquired a Welsh Dragon since my last visit. Walked up from Stone Circle, visited the trig, then followed the eastern flank before descending south to the Gospel Pass. Beautiful day with stunning views & fantastic company.

Pillar has a large horizontal crack about one third from the top, as shown in photo. Walked up from the stone circle then carried on to Twmpa. Windy but great views all round.

ODP#6: never before, in >40 years of walking, have I been so relieved to see a trig looming out of the mist, after a very cold and wet trudge up the Hatterrall Ridge in a complete whiteout. At least the large plinth made a good seat for lunch, and the surrounding moat the venue for a bet how quickly a dropped crisp would absorb water and sink. It didn't. SE s/hole and centre open, painted white with a Welsh dragon on each face, thought it was in good condition, although my inspection was cursory in the face of the weather and need for lunch.

Several years since I last cycled over the Gospel Pass - probably after last stay at now closed Capel-y-ffin YHA. By earlier chicanery, managed to make this my 2300 pillar - a fitting high point. Panorama of the Wye valley, but further views misty/cloudy although a warm, sunny afternoon. A pleasant walk up. Attempted a selfie photo as nowhere to rest a camera to include me and the pillar.

Highest point in Herefordshire lies along the path southwards along clear path. Fascinating to compare the weather today with same time in March last year. Lovely sunny day, this is what retirement is about

Great walk. We walked from the stone circle car park up to hay bluff across to lord Herefords knob (twmpa). Very good views all round. There was also gliders circling above us.

Us Some one has obviously been up here with some white paint and painted it and also painted welsh dragons on here.

This is my closest decent hill pillar,always nice for a quick revisit to clear the cobwebs! Grey cold and zero views but still worth the effort.

Prominent location with good views to north including Hay-on-Wye. A very wet and windy day, wind strength trying to push me over most of day, made walking difficult on approach from south along Black Hill ridge. Return along Offa's Dyke Path was a little easier. Trig located in middle of a moat! Large horizontal crack in pillar, but otherwise seemed sound.

Great views, slight damage to pillar and a fair bit of soil erosion in the general area of the pillar. Well worth the walk up, we came here via the Craswell trig point and collected 3 caches on the way. Given an 8 scoring for the views, best go on a clear day though :)

Took my son up Hay Bluff for my first 2000 footer. Had to use the stepping stones through the water around trig to access it for photo.Some sort of flag tied around it. Warm & sunny,great views.Then took Offa's Dyke path to Herefordshires 703m peak

Found this on an fantastic 18 mile hike through a blizzard. I'll go with the flow on the score as I couldn't see much. Love the paved paths on the route from the south (didn't go further north). A lovely looking trig with some nice stone work around the base. It looked very festive today too. Couldn't see a crack - the photos show why!

Fourth and final one of the day. Skipped the 3.5 mile diversion to Black Hill (TP2546-Craswall)due to the heat and running out of water. I suppose the big horizontal crack about a third of the way down counts as slight damage. Had to ask a woman, standing on the platform, to move so I could get a photo, she could see I was trying to get a shot of it and just stood there! Best views of the day.

Not the best start to the day with both the minor link then the Gospel pass itself blocked by snow. Parked early on Hay Common so this is going to be a really long walk. Easy but longer climb to summit than usual. Trig condition unchanged

Had met up with geocacher Stockport Freebird and non-cacher Tina for a couple of days staying in a nearby youth hostel, and we planned a long day day walk including Hay Bluff. Weather wasnt too good but our day was wonderful with lots of banter as always between good friends. Trig point was in good condition as far as I can remember [having such a good time!] and the views between the showers were excellent!

Certainly an impressive trig standing on a plinth built from local slabs. Unfortunately the trig is cracked and may one day succumb to poor weather conditions. Beware of lost dogs, one was following a fellow walker I met up here and then started to follow me until fortunately it took an interest in some local kite flyers. It reminded me of walking the Cornish coastal path when I was tracked by a dog all day and ended up piling it into the car and taking it back home.

Cycled up to the Gospel pass (features in opening of Antiques Roadshow) which at 540m is about as high as you can go anywhere on a public road. 20 min walk to summit, which is better known as Hay Bluff. Tremendous views of virtually all of Herefordshire, although not, perversely, Hay itself.
