Drove up to farm and was happily given permission by the lady. The best way to find this in the long elephant grass would be to enter it halfway between the telegraph poles and walk straight ahead. This should take you to the clearing where the trig is. On first entering it did feel a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack! Eventually found !

Drove up the track to the farm and knocked on the door, a lovely elderly gentleman answered and I asked him if I could access the Trig. He said 'Of course, there have been a few others up here asking the same'. He then asked what it was for. I gave him a quick explanation. Thanked him and went over the style to log it. Lovely clear day :-)

I clearly went to the wrong farm, a kid with "quarter past nine eyes" playing a banjo whilst the old man tap danced, would have been my greeting. Nobody about. Why bother sneeking round for a 96m trig pillar...."Because its there". Gifted to the very kind man who asked me when I was running yesterday, if I had ever considered the Olympics.

The high score is mainly for the very friendly and welcoming couple who live at the farm. Drove down lane to house and was greeted by the lady at the door. She said it was o.k. to go across field and she gave me her walking stick to keep the cattle away. When we returned she invited us in for a cup of coffee and cake. We sat and chatted and talked about all sorts of things.

Having read previous logs we drove up to the farm and the braver of the two of us knocked on the door. (Mr U2 was made for this type of thing the cheeky chappie!). The young lass who answered said yes no bother and on we went over the fence which has a purpose made style and protection for the barbed wire, bagged the trig and came back. When we got back Mrs Farmer came out for a chat and told us all about the surrounding hills and even offered us some lemonade, really lovely lady!

Farmer, nor his good lady, at home, shame as reading previous logs would have been good to meet them. Hopped over the style, had an encounter with a very feisty herd of cattle - cows, bulls, calves. Galloping (do cattle gallop?) all over the place and very interested in me for some reason. First time for a while I needed to tread carefully. Pillar vgc on plinth with smooth screed finish; original cap in place, raised lettering; rear and RHD side sight holes open, LHD side plug degrading.
