Walked westward and found PROW gate and veered up to field corner (right) and further on over small bridge. Continued following small stream to right passed field with lots of horse jumps until crossing stile and then up a rocky track to field with trig, easy to spot by using the windmill as a marker. Over fence marked P..... quickly to trig and back the same route. No problems here today but not spotted either! Trig in good condition in field of sheep and lambs. Still the occasional bread bag to be seem and 1 tonne containers from a bakery - is he feeding bakery waste to the sheep? A most unpleasant experience for more than one reason, Firstly, the area stinks of death - I'm not sure if this is due to the rotting crow carcasses that have been shot by local gun enthusiasts or whether it came from the large strange piles of black stuff nearby, possibly some kind of fertilizer made from sewage? As I approcached the trig-point, I was shouted at by someone, whom I presume was the the land owner that I was on private property while holding a shot gun.

Must just have been a good day as i am ( as anyone that follows my logs of the Welsh Valleys knows... ) one of the most scathing of the way the area is vandalised and abused. I still cannot believe that the local authorities run their respective areas and ignore fly tipping and desecration of the landscape without attempting to rectify it. They should all be in court. Have travelled length and breadth of UK and still think these valleys are enough to make you give up hope, how do they live like this?? Passed a caravan on a slip road in Blackwood, it was being used as a skip and had been there for weeks if not months and the locals just drive around it !! Dire. Leave them to rot I think... If they cant even notice they are living in a shithole then maybe they in best place ?

As I neared the trig a massive flock of seagulls rose from over the brow of the hill, like you see on a rubbish tip. I had the misfortune to pass this 3 times. The poor sheep have next to no grass. I'm sure the views are great when it's less hazy though I certainly won't be returning to find out. Even the trig was a grey/black shade. ****** Please don't log Brecon Beacons trig here as it doesn't deserve the hike in it's score. ****** P.S.
