Revisit. HISTORY: Pillar completed 29th November 1949 costing 16.12s.0d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NO89/T49 during 1950. Levelled for height to Calss 2 precision also in 1950. Last maintained by the OS in September 1973. SITE VISIT: Approached from northeast. Parked in layover by south side of public road at NO593918. Discovered a small walkers' car park presumably provided by the estate at NO591194. Followed mapped estate track all the way to summit. Large open heathery moorland hill. Pillar in good condition. Spider centre open. Flush bracket faces north, compass bearing 10. Vented through back (south) sight hole. Full 360 panoramic view from top includes Clachnaben and Mount Battock.

Expansive views from this most easterly 2000ft top. Spider has no cap or plug, otherwise VGC.

Trig pillar in good condition. Spider no longer has OS plug. Flush bracket faces northwest. Partially in a wind shelter. Views to many hills including Mount Battock. Visited and photographed 13/06/2001, GRP.
