Ascended via Black Sail pass, in the clouds above 600m for most of the day. Toughest trig I've got to yet but well worth the effort, been aiming for this one for a while. Trig is a local stone effort, no flush bracket and cap missing too. Spider stands quite proud on the top and one of sighthole tubes quite badly eroded. Took in Scoat Fell, Steeple and Red Pike too, thankfully the clouds parted for some tremendous views.

Passed over the top of Pillar on the Mosedale Horseshow. Parked at Overbeck and walked around Wasdale Head and up to the Black Sail Pass, then onto the summit of Pillar. Wonderful views all around. From Pillar carried onto Scoat Fell, Steeple, Red Pike and finally up Stirrup Crag to Yewbarrow. Horrible decent back to car then a badly needed beer at The Wasdale Head Inn.

Stonebuilt, metal cap, apparently bronze, deep letters. No sign of FB or even where it used to be (repaired?), although was in a hurry and pouring rain: supporting a section of Will Hortons Bob Graham Round (he completed the 66 mi / 27000 ft route in 22h50, in pretty foul conditions for the latter half). There were maybe 20 attempting the BG that day - quite a few got round despite the weather. The Slightly Damaged is for the lack of FB; the 3 is for the weather...
