The services are now Starbucks, as others walk along slip road to the double electricity poles where access to the field is easy even for little legs! Continue along fence line to second field, right along tractor track and pillar is in the field. There is erosion below the concrete base.

Feeling brave and the last pillar to visit in this area. Decided to cycle approach from on the A303 from the West, avoiding traffic just leaving motorway and a shorter distance between entry and exit points. Needn't have worried, traffic light, wide carraigeway and good visibility. Stopped in service area and carefully walked across road and up easy bank opposite. In field with views of surrounds blocked by surrounding hedge. I can recommend the Popham Diner at the service area; basic but clean and the excellent day's special of steak and Guinness suet pudding, chips and peas and a three cup pot of tea was less than 8 . Bowled down hill to East at a steady 22 - 23mph.

I'm no fan of using a car to get to trigpoints (where's the fun in it) but this one had me beaten. Although it may be legally possible to cycle down the A303 there's no way I would. And it's not any better from the south with the A33 and the M3 (plus, after a GOML incident at Scotland's 2nd lowest pillar, I'd be wary of the obvious approach from West Farm). So, had a hire car for the day and did like everyone else and parked at the services. A thoroughly uninspiring pillar. Also it seems the Little Chef may be no more, currently being fitted out to become a Starbucks? At least the weather was nice.

As everyone else: parked at Little Chef, westbound carriageway. We scouted around to find the best place to enter the field - did not fancy walking back up the sliproad and along the A303. We found that the best place to climb over the fence was at the fence corner, see red 'X' on attached image. Trig in good condition, base exposed, original metal cap with lightly indented lettering. The horseshoe is still there! This could be difficult in the summer months when there will be crop in the fields. I put a 2p coin at the rear of the trig (i.e. opposite side to the FB) below the base, where it meets the eroded soil, for the next visitor to find.

Little Chef on westbound carriageway only viable place to park without having to cross A303. Grass verge to start of slip road for service area then over new fence into field. Along wide grass edge to second field where trig is located - arable with young cereal crop, so final 75m to pillar very muddy. Pillar in good condition; exposed base. Original cap in place, lightly indented lettering; all sight holes closed. Road noise from A303 intrusive.
