Take the B3080 North-West from the Telegraph Hill junction. The Trig is about 250 metres past the one house on the right. Just keep looking at the fence line until you see the obvious wooden fence that surrounds the pillar. Fairly average location, but nice that the fence has been built around the pillar to make access easy.

Rode past this spot a couple of weeks ago but didn’t realise a pillar was here until looking at the OS map afterwards. Actually tucked away amongst the gorse about 75 metres north of the road, but visible if you keep an eye open for it. Lay-by on south side of road. Heather growing up around base. Pretty spot. Views to south west only. Fence is considerately on three sides, so left accessible.

Just off the B3080, can be seen from the road. Pretty little area at this time of year, would be rather desolate in winter! Found on a circular route on the bike, looks like it has quite easy parking with a pull in opposite it

KF This trig is strangely difficult to see on a grey day from the nearby road which has a parking pull in just where needed. It is snuggled next to the SE corner of the obvious copse of trees and the fenceline has been diverted in a small rectangle to go round it????

Circular walk from nearby car park on a beautiful sunny day, lovely autumn colours, and a good stop off at the Royal Oak in Fritham. Rather uninspiring location - views south but north obscured by trees. Asphalt cap, NE s/hole open, SW and SE buried, some cracking of top render but otherwise good condition.

Doesn't look much like a bottom to me (land as flat as a pancake) and there was certainly no pounding going on. This pillar sits in the middle of nowhere, with a neat little fence arranged around it. Short walk from road across scrubland.

Agree with Jonglew that this pillar is just inside the Wiltshire boundary. Spent the afternoon finishing the excellent Carol Shields' first novel (Small Ceremonies), then fancied a short forest walk, hunting a trig, & an evening pint at the Cuckoo, Hamptworth - all achieved.

Yet another simple bag, located within 100m of the road and with a convenient pull-in almost opposite the trig, although trig is not easily visible from the road. Listed as being in Hants, I suspect this one is actually in Wilts; it's on the Wilts side of the fence line that forms the county boundary. Anyway, it's in good condition; ground level is rising so not easy to determine state of the sight holes without digging, which I didn't. 1 is definitely open and 1 definitely sealed (beneath the FB), other 2 indeterminate. Cap has been replaced with tarmac plug. Good views, if uninspiring, to the South and West.

Number 3 of four today. Having come from Bramshaw this was another easy one to spot. Stopped in lay by just up the road and walk on foot across gorse. Trig in good condition with fence around it as previously stated. Another plug missing.

The trig sits on the side of a small boundary dyke between New Forest heathland of Hampshire and a Wiltshire hillside plantation; the fence makes a small diversion around the pillar. It has an asphalt plug and FB S2632. There are fine extensive views across New Forest heaths and woods to distant hills on the horizon from the layby on the adjacent road but these views are largely obscured by trees from the pillar itself. Rooks were flocking around the tops of nearby trees.

Visible from road, layby nearby. Large number of cattle came over to car, they thought it was feeding time and looked most disappointed! Large expanse of heath to south. Some repairs to concrete at top of pillar. Plug missing, asphalt filled.
