Metal cap, raised letters, all s/holes open, significant white paint, some damage at all spider ends but is painted white so clearly old. Otherwise vgc.

I drove up Knott Lane (Byway open to all traffic) and parked on the side just before the wooden gateway at NY 6403 0843. I walked through the gateway and up the track heading north, past the reservoir compound. Where I could see the two farms to the west (Friar Biggins and Scar Side) lining up I struck out to the ENE up the hillside. Eventually near the summit I came to a curving grassy way and after a short way could see the pillar which I then made a beeline for. Very windy on the top and feels quite isolated and exposed. There is a single tree nearby which has been blown into a strange shape, Pillar has some damage to top with edges of spider showing but a nice cap with raised letters; FB faces WNW; all sightholes appear open but debris inside prevents view of upper centre mark.
