Second visit, first in 1977 during Coast to Coast Walk. Today parked, along with several 4x4s and landrovers at end of track and walked via old quarry, where we saw a fox heading west at speed, and Thunder Stone, to pillar where another truck was parked. There were a few randomly parked on the fell. Several dogs running, on a trail I think rather than after the fox. A great area to study the art of drystone walling! Up to the monument and back down to car.

Circular walk from Orton taking in Orton Scar, Queen Victoria Jubilee Cross, limestone pavement to Castle Folds .... and then the TP. Then down to Gamelands stone circle and field paths back to Orton. A rather hazy day so views not defined and the limestone merged with the haze. A recommended walk for this TP.
