Parked at NT CP *(see below) and walked R to pick up sign for South West Coast Path. Walked R along SWCP to NT Pendennack sign, through gate, R upto wall and used step stones in wall (Cornish 'edge) into field and across harvested field to Pillar. Views limited by slowly deteriorating weather. *There is a short cut back. Retrace steps along SWCP to a wooden step stile before descent to stream. Over stile, across field, through gap in next hedge then gently down to anot her stile beside a 5-bar wooden gate. Over stile, turn R along narrow muddy green Lane. Follow back to NT CP. It is labelled Nat Trust path at the CP and is located at the top of the car parking area by some granite steps. If followed from the CP it reduces distance considerably. It's a fine pillar on its base.

Walked along coastal footpath from N.Trust farms. The trig point stands one field back from the coastal path,in the southern most corner of this field you will find a stone step stile over the wall into the field. It's then just an easy walk around the field boundary to the trig.

The first trigpoint of the third day of my expedition into the west country. I parked up in the National Trust car park at Predannack Wollas (suggested donation 50p) and took the path from the west corner. I followed the narrow lane between fields and came out onto open pasture. From there, the path heads roughly south and over a style to pick up the Cornish Coastal Path. Once you reach the National Trust boundary (thereís a notice board) turn right and walk up to the field wall. There are granite steps set into it which make getting over it easy. Youíll see the T/P high up on the opposite wall. Itís set on a huge concrete plinth built into the wall. The pillar is complete with all its metalwork and in good condition although the concrete plinth itís mounted on has some cracks in it. The views along the coast path are better that at the T/P. At this time of year, the grass slopes are covered with small blue flowers that I donít know the name of and a scattering of yellow cowslips. All very pretty and worth a visit in their own right.

We parked at the NT carpark and headed east and then south onto the coastal path. There is a permissive path which goes west from the carpark and is a bit of a shortcut if you so wish. There were plenty of evil looking Shetland ponies about which looked as though they would sooner bite you than move out of the way at the stiles - although they didn't! It's fairly obvious where to climb over the first hedge bank and then across a pasture field to the trig. Good views, plug with indented lettering.
