Parked in the car park to the E of the trig, then walked along the range walk to the trig. Trig in good condition apart from a chunk missing on the right side, centre tube filled with asphalt / concrete, rear sighthole open, all other sightholes closed. I left a 2p coin in the rear sighthole for the next visitor to find. Flush bracket has been stamped "JRWARD 1 2019". This is John Roy Ward, who goes round stamping his stamp on flush brackets and spiders on trigs! I'm guessing that this was his first trig station of 2019?

Left the car at Povington Hill and followed the well worn path through the scrub that leads down into the col. From there it was a simple matter of continuing along the gravel track that climbs WSW up Whiteway Hill to the pillar. There is a small chunk out of one edge and a nick to the top hence recorded as slightly damaged. Cap has been replaced with tarmac. OK views across Tyneham and out to sea.
