2/5 from Warren Wood. Headed up from the car park (via Nyth Grug) along the green lane, till we met the footpath at Cowlod. Then path straight to ridge line.Lots of heather, moss and waterlogged ditches, but walkable. Trig point is on the highest point in Radnor. Views I’m assured are usually spectacular, but we could not see anything apart from clouds. Trig sits on a mound. Trig is in good condition with spider and FB intact.

Good parking along forest track off A44 (approx SO19359 59193). Made a nice circular walk by following track through forest to open ground at approx SO17780 62507. Terrain was uneven here and I missed the footpath and ended up at the danger area boundary fence, so had to retrace steps. Would have avoided this if I had used OS App. After bagging the trig, made our way to the footpath a few hundred yards north before joining the bridleway/byway open to all traffic(?) leading to Water breaks its neck waterfall, then back to car,

First time I went there I had a lot of problems as I relied on a bearing from the nearby mature plantations. Unfortunately they were not on the OS map (1st series 1:50 000) and I missed. Its a vast plateau, and to this day its the worst case of getting lost I have experienced. Great Rhos, the highest point in Radnor Forest. There are plenty of signs for the firing range, but on the several occasions we've done this walk we've never seen or heard any activity. On the descent from Great Rhos we've seen Ring Ousels on several occasions. The OS lists this trig as S1595, but this is the FB number for Ben Nevis.Plug missing.
