Walked along PRoW from Raginnis House over three stiles, turned due west and followed uphill to a secured gate, ducked under strand of barbed wire, pillar can be seen easily straight in front at top of next field. Unremarkable. Views to coast but no more. Tregonning Hill is in sight.

Walked south on footpath from Ragginnis to a point due east of trig point. Turning right through open gate followed hedge line west to second gate, at this point the trig can be seen directly ahead in next field. Great Coastal views.

All intact. Plinth partially visible. Followed by German tourists on way back through maize field as they had lost the path - admittedly it was ploughed up!

Parked in Raginnis village, nice easy start over clear PROW through short-grass pastures. Divert W off path when opposite trig - more easy pastures. Then hit the maize field - an 8' tall, densely planted barrier. Turned S to circumnavigate field, awkward with crop planted right to edge of banked field boundary. Pillar eventually found at edge of field, not on bramble-topped boundary bank as expected. Minor spalling to top screed surface but otherwise ok; original cap in place, raised lettering; LHD side sight hole open. No views, until standing on top of pillar when 360deg flat farmland views come into... view! Returned through middle of field, carefully feeling my way forward, parting maize plants and stepping through; took a while.

perserverence paid off. we tried to get to this trig from the road in raginnis the evening before but just as we thought we had gotten to the field before the trig, there were cows in the field. attacked it from the opposite way this time and had to climb a wall to actually access the trig and then walked back through fields to raginnis the way we tried the night before. great views and happy that it was finally bagged.

We parked at Raginnis and took the footpath south from there. After the second hegde line head west up through two gates and the trig is at the end of the pasture field, on the east side of the wall so easily accessible by this route. Plug with raised lettering.

Yet another 1st for NR. Not too far from the footpath! Unusal position in corner of field shielded by hedges. Wonderful views (of course this is Cornwall)
