Bagged whilst visiting Dalby Forest (worth the £5 toll road fee.) As others have said this one appears to have sunk a little. Hard to spot initially as very overgrown although there is a trampled path through the shrubbery.

Cycling around dalby red route to the adventure hub. Up the forest road to the trig and back down to the visitor centre carpark following escape roads. Trig was slightly sunken( or ground raised up around it). Had to have a bit of a dig to see the flush bracket

A quick revisit whilst driving past on a family wander around Dalby. Access remains easy and unhindered. Pillar still in great shape, although the recent paint job is now looking a little shabby. Plenty of vegetation surrounds it, but you can still read the FB number.

Spotted this as we drove out of the forest after spending time with the grandchildren and the Gruffalo! Easy to spot by the roadside as it seems to have been repainted recently although the surrounds are getting overgrown. No views due to an abundance of trees.

The Dalby Forest Drive is now £9 in Summer but "only" £5 in the Winter months. With a useful tip, I drove to the pillar and back free of charge. No more details! Seems to have had a recent coat of white paint.

HISTORY: Pillar completed 4th March 1952 costing £21.11s.9d. Flush bracket levelled for height in 1953. Computed for as secondary triangulation station SE97/11 within the Bridlington block during 1954. Last maintained by the OS in June 1984. SITE VISIT: Approached by car from the northeast via SE912914. Easy parking beside trig. Trick seems to be to do this one at night. The locked gates are all by the trig. Didn't stop to find out how much the toll demand is now but having learned that it had previously been £7, that is OTT for such a short one way visit. Pillar in good condition. Spider centre plugged with tar. Flush bracket faces southwest, ~234°. All sight holes buried. No view, in woods.

Accidental find as I was supposed to be out with others so had no plan. I think I had this in my head to log sometime as it is on the main forest drive in Dalby forest by the temporary toll booth at the east end of the forest. Concrete plug.

Next to the Dalby Forest Drive. They want 7 quid to do the drive - what a rip off. On our visit if you come in from the north east you can ignore the automatic ticket machines (you dont have any change....) The pillar is a roadsider before you reach the toll booth (which was shut anyway on our visit)

Fee now £7 - but I didn't have the change, so drove to 500m short of the 'checkpoint' which is across the road from the TP and walked the rest, then drove out again. Checkpoint was unstaffed so felt even more irritated as it rained on me on walk back to car. Forest Enterprise are supposed to encourage the public into their forests for recreation. Hmmm.
