Parked on the road to the east of the pillar. Walked up the A5 to the entrance to Upper Woodhouse Farm. The pillar was originally positioned on the grass verge to the east of the track that leads from the entrance up to the farm (close to the entrance). However, it has been moved to a new position further up the track, and is now very close to the farm.

Being in the area and having read of its reported loss I decided to re-visit. A new steel I-beam has been put in place to hang the gate and tapes splay out to the A5 hedges one passing over the former site. Possibly they are going to widen the narrow entrance. The pillar foundation appears to be still in place and two layers of bricks have been used to fill up to ground level. Lack of new vegetation suggests this is recent. I went down the drive with the intention of enquiring about the pillar, but found it sat upright and intact by this drive just before the buildings and adjacent to a mobile home. There is a shallow inwardly sloping base below the former ground level of the pillar.
