Vehicle access now discouraged, so P at start of track to Ethie Barns and walked round the track in howling wind and rain. Could hardly see the sea.

I try to avoid ;car journeys to single TPs so caiught the bus from my road end to InverKeilor and then walked out to Red Head. A car passed me on the track out to the TP and I thought I was going to meet another Trigger but it was a local driving to one of his favourite spots. I continued my walk (after admiring the views) to Arbroath via Auchmithie and from there, the bus home. Lovely day and worthe the walk

Drove up the track at Ethie Barns, to the south of the trig, all the way to a handy parking place, only 400 feet from the trig. Scary drive though, as the track is right at the edge of a cliff!

Parked at Ethie Mains and walked up the track past the pond and the barn. Then followed a faint track up the side of the field. Then went through the hole in the wall and followed faint track to the trig. Took some time to explore the old WW2 placement and enjoy the views of the cliffs. Gorgeous evening. Cheers.

Great drive through Angus on empty roads and through gorgeous countryside with Richard Thompson on sounds! Driving can be an absolute pleasure. And all to meet a redhead! The pillar is beautifully set on both cliff-edge and edge of field. Sadly the original cap is no longer there, as last recorded by Clochandighter in May 2013. So it now has an open cap. Two sight-holes are closed but couldn't determine the state of the others due to soil creepage; no tools with me. Explored the nearby Iron Age Fort set atop of this stunning red rocky coastline: one embankment and ditch visible. Such an enjoyable visit and short coastal walk.
