Walk up from Gospel Pass passing LHK on route to Waun Fach. Left it a bit late today as we weren't going to venture out (Garden/watch son play footie) but game called off so off we went. Lots out along the road but our route was a little quieter. Walk to tig was straight forward and paths good, peaty in places and helicopter out moving stone to make paths even better in the future. Trig has a crack on one side and all SH are closed, cap missing. Spider still in place and Flush bracket. Cold wind blowing but dry with super views around and on route.

We walked over from Lord Hereford's Knob on a frosty, cold (sub-zero) and very windy morning. At least it was not very muddy since the ground was frozen but there was a "puddle" of ice around the trig. A bit too misty to have the best views but it was brighter down in the valley.

At 713 metres AOD and being right on the north edge of the Black Mountains this is one fine trig point to visit. I did this after Pen y Beacon. From Pen y Beacon via Lord Herefords Knob then after Rhos Dirion the weather turned rather nast and an escape route was done by heading south along the ridge and back to the car. In the trek that day I only met one other lad and that was when I was heading down he was heading up...! MAD

Got this one whilst doing "Lord Herefords Knob" geocache. Very quiet on the hills today. Must have something to do with the football. Got back to parked car on Gospel Pass and found three London Hired mini buses blocking everyone in. Had to treck off in search of the drivers not too far away thank goodness.

The local farmer and his dogs were very friendly as we parked the 2 cars before a pleasant 4 hour round trip hike to the Trig point. Climbing up the steep slopes, we popped up above the morning fog into the Sun; we later watched the fog roll away out of the valleys like a sea tide, leaving behind nothing but stunning views. Bagged along with Simon, Dave, Craig and Graham on a 'lads weekend' in Wales. I forgot to fill up the water flask!
